A Focused Coaching Session is a one-on-one coaching session that will help you improve your Executive Functioning* by learning effective strategies to lessen your stress and anxiety. The goal is to identify specific challenges related to planning, organizing, focusing, remembering details, and managing time, and to create a plan to reduce stress and anxiety. You'll be guided through methods like time management, organization, planning, prioritization, and goal-setting, and help you develop coping strategies for managing stress and anxiety. By the end of the session, you will have a clear plan for improving your skills and managing stress and anxiety and a deeper understanding of your challenges and strengths. *Executive function is a set of cognitive processes that are responsible for managing and controlling our thoughts, actions, and emotions in order to achieve our goals. These processes include: Working memory: the ability to hold information in our minds and manipulate it in order to solve problems or complete tasks. Inhibition: the ability to control our impulses and resist distractions in order to stay focused on a task. Cognitive flexibility: the ability to switch between different tasks or perspectives as needed. Planning and organization: the ability to break down a task into smaller steps and create a plan to accomplish it. Time management: the ability to estimate how much time a task will take and allocate time accordingly. Emotional regulation: the ability to manage our emotions and respond appropriately to different situations. Executive function skills are important for success in many areas of life, including school, work, and personal relationships. Difficulties with executive function are commonly seen in individuals with ADHD, but can also be present in individuals with other conditions or as a result of brain injury.
