I am a Business Muse.
A muse is a person or personified force who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist.
Entrepreneurs are creative in Business. We have to be. Looking at every possible scenario for the best option. Struggling to create systems to make the tasks easier and more efficient because we want our time back.
Sure we might seem like we have the best life, doing what we want and being leisurely throughout the day.
That is because slow and steady wins the race; we are working pretty much every minute of every day.
If we are in a rat race, it feels good to be able to plan out my day, week, and months at MY pace, while making good money.
It feels AMAZING to do what I am passionate about, what I enjoy doing, and what brings me to life.
I love seeing my fellow entrepreneurs grow and scale their businesses; creating teams of purpose-driven passionate people.
It brings me joy to be able to create opportunities for others to start their own journey of entrepreneurship.
Be it publishing to get an author published after years of writing or a speaker to have something tangible for the speaking events.
To walking another entrepreneur through the process of creating a small business or creating systems for a small business owner to improve a current process and to launch her own podcast.
To a struggling single mom who is struggling financially and needs a way to make passive income or any income to be able to start earning steady income.
I have heard that I need to pick a niche. I think my niche is entrepreneurs who want to improve their lives.
You could be an entrepreneur and not even know it, because it's hard and scary or maybe you have conditioned to not even know you could be your own boss.
But now to the story that got me to even write this blog post; an example as to how I am a Business Muse.
My bestie was over to declutter my house last week. As an entrepreneur, I have no time or motivation to do it but she does.
She’s like Monica from FRIENDS. And we have known each other since we were 16/17.
So from my gratitude for her doing these things, I created a company for her doing just what she was doing, decluttering spaces.
Just a couple of hours of her working to declutter and place things together in appropriate spots has made my house feel like a home again. It's more than just dusting, vacuuming and mopping.
I didn't realize how many sample paint containers I had until they were all on a shelf in the garage.
I didn't realize how much space I had in a closet of shelves where my DVDs and boardgames are until she rearranged them after 3 years, since moving in.
I didn't realize how easy it would be or what I could store on the empty shelves above my washer and dryer until she filled it.
She was so grateful for this idea because it would allow her to keep a flexible schedule and make more than what she had been doing of selling random items on OfferUp.
Because she loves to declutter, clean, and organize, this won't feel like work. She'll be doing what she is passionate about, what she enjoys and thus living a better life.
Life is too short to struggle to wake up in the morning because you're dreading going in to work. Life is too short to be stressed out and not in alignment with your true purpose-your why.
